2013 Chevy Malibu Eco Gets GM’s Mild Hybrid eAssist

Malibu has been a Chevrolet nameplate since 1964, first as an upscale trim level for the Chevelle and then a separate model in 1978. The redesigned, eighth generation 2013 Malibu will go on sale in early 2012, representing Chevrolet’s first global mid-size sedan with sales planned for nearly 100 countries.


Chevy Spark in Two Flavors: Gas Soon, Electric Drive Coming

Americans who want to buy a battery electric car will have an ever larger menu of models to choose from. As one example, Chevrolet will offer an all-electric version of its tiny Chevrolet Spark. Initially, the Spark EV will be available in limited quantities in select U.S markets, possibly only California, as well as in other markets starting in 2013. General Motors will also sell the Spark with a gasoline engine in the U.S. and Canada starting in mid-2012.


Ford C-MAX Energi is Green Car Vision Award Winner

Green Car Journal has named Ford’s C-MAX Energi its 2012 Green Car Vision Award™ winner at the Washington Auto Show. The highly-efficient plug-in model, which is expected to come to market in late 2012, is built on the same global C-car platform as the Ford Focus and other Ford models to come. This distinguishes Ford as the first back-to-back winner of the Green Car Vision Award. The Ford Focus Electric won the honors last year.
